I created A Little Dough to help others do the best with what they have to cook smart, eat well, and live whole.
There are countless amazing healthy food blogs out there, so what makes this one any different?
Here on A Little Dough, I take on one of the biggest public health dilemmas when it comes to people eating a balanced diet: access & affordability to healthy, real food ingredients.
Addressing Accessibility & Affordability
By using real, whole ingredients, cooking regularly can be the most inexpensive path to health, and I would go so far to say it’s also the most enjoyable way.
My mission with A Little Dough is to be an example of how healthy food doesn’t need to be expensive, especially when you’re cooking it! I want this platform to focus on affordable recipes because there are so many simple, health promoting, and delicious ingredients in our world – aka real, whole foods ranging anywhere from oats to apples to lentils. You may not be able to access every single ingredient seen on this platform, but thats why I try to create a variety of recipes to meet different needs. Make sure to catch my tips along the way on how we can still cook healthy within our limitations, it just takes some extra strategizing! My intent is to make my recipes accessible and stress-free. Cooking should be fun – Turn on the music, cook your heart out, and eat delicious food!
Not only can cooking be affordable but it can be immensely rewarding, and most importantly – Therapeutic.
Cooking isn’t just an act to nourish our bodies physically, but it also has a profound effect on our minds. Whether you are working your way to mental clarity or are already there (kudos to you), I hope to be a resource on how cooking can be a means to tune into our minds in our everyday hustle. Cooking is my approach to being more mindful in my daily routine, similar to the concept of meditating but the result is a nourishing meal. Every meal I make rewards my mind & body with the nutrients it needs to thrive. I take pride in that and as should you! Really, take pride in your culinary creations and the spark it can bring to your life.
Being in the field of health care, I know most health is considered to be physical, but our mental health is just as important. Unfortunately, there aren’t as many widespread resources and strategies out there to deal with our daily stressors and thus influence our mental health. I am here because I understand that life can be pretty hard sometimes, but it can also be beautiful when we can take care of our mind & body to be our best selves and to live whole.
Thanks for being here and happy cooking!
